Faysal Bank Launches Pakistan
Faysal Bank Limited (FBL), in partnership with PayPak and Mastercard, has launched Pakistan’s first PayPak–Mastercard Co-Badge Debit Card. The initiative marks a major milestone for the country’s digital payments ecosystem.

The new debit card offers Mastercard’s global acceptance and advanced security. At the same time, it delivers the reliability and cost-efficiency of Pakistan’s domestic payments network, PayPak. This development directly supports the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) goal of building a strong, self-reliant payments infrastructure.
Supporting Digital Transformation
Faysal Bank aims to accelerate financial inclusion and digital transformation. The co-badge card enables customers to make seamless and secure payments both locally and internationally. Moreover, PayPak’s homegrown infrastructure and Mastercard’s global network work together to deliver a smooth and interoperable payment experience.
Leadership Attends the Launch Ceremony
The launch event was attended by Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Mr. Jameel Ahmad, who participated as the chief guest. Deputy Governor Mr. Saleem Ullah and senior leadership from Faysal Bank Limited, PayPak, Mastercard, and Euronet were also present. Their participation highlighted the strategic significance of this collaboration for Pakistan’s digital payments future.
SBP Governor Highlights Importance of Co-Badging
Governor Jameel Ahmad said, “Today’s co-badging initiative is a step forward towards developing mutually beneficial partnerships between international and domestic payment schemes. These partnerships will create better value for all stakeholders.”
He added that SBP will continue to ensure a level playing field for all payment system players. He emphasized that Pakistan’s future depends on a secure, interoperable, and self-sustaining digital payments infrastructure that promotes financial inclusion and supports sustainable economic growth.

Speaking at the event, Faysal Bank President & CEO, Mr. Yousaf Hussain, said, “We are honored to launch the PayPak Mastercard Co-Badge Debit Card. This marks the next chapter in Pakistan’s payments evolution.”
He highlighted that the bank already leads the market with products like the Noor Card, the only fully Shariah-compliant credit card available.
