JF-17 Dubai Airshow

Dubai: Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder captured global attention at the Dubai Airshow 2025. The showcase led to the signing of a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a friendly country for aircraft procurement, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

A Major Milestone for Pakistan

ISPR called the MoU “a significant milestone” in Pakistan’s expanding defence and industrial partnerships. The deal also reflects rising international confidence in Pakistan’s aviation capabilities.

High-Level Defence Meetings

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, met defence leaders from several friendly nations. These talks took place on the sidelines of the airshow. Moreover, discussions focused on advanced training, emerging aerospace technologies, and stronger operational coordination.

He also met Lieutenant General Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Undersecretary of Defence UAE, and Major General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Commander UAE Air Force and Air Defence. The UAE leadership praised PAF’s modernization efforts and growing indigenous strength.

PAF Contingent at the Airshow

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) showcased the advanced JF-17 Thunder Block-III and the Super Mushshak trainer aircraft. Their performance impressed global defence observers.

Battle-Proven Performance

The JF-17 Block-III earned high praise after its successful operations in Marka-e-Haq—Pakistan’s response to Indian aggression in May. The aircraft demonstrated exceptional precision and reliability during combat.

During the conflict, Pakistan employed JF-17 jets to destroy India’s S-400 air defence system in Adampur using hypersonic missiles. Additionally, PAF downed multiple Indian jets and struck more than 20 military sites across India in response to New Delhi’s missile attacks on May 5 and 6.

India had claimed its strikes targeted terrorists. However, the unlawful attacks caused the martyrdom of several Pakistani civilians and security personnel.
