The Prime Minister has accepted the resignation of Bilal Bin Saqib from his role as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Blockchain and Crypto.
Bilal Bin Saqib Held Dual Roles
He first took charge as the CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC). Later, the government also assigned him the federal portfolio of Blockchain and Crypto. He served as SAPM with the status of Minister of State.
Cabinet Division Updates Official Record
The Cabinet Division has removed his name from the official list of Ministers of State, Special Assistants, and Advisors. This update confirms that the government has formally processed his resignation.
NA Website Still Shows Him as SAPM
However, the National Assembly’s official website still displays his name as SAPM on Blockchain and Crypto. It also continues to list him as holding the status of Minister of State.
New Appointment as VARA Chairman
According to another official notification, the government has appointed him as Chairman of the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). The authority is now fully functional. Moreover, its rules and regulatory framework have been finalized.
